Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it being considered before for publication in another journal.
  • Please fill in the form provided and attach together with the submission article. Download form here >> https://shorturl.at/fozF6
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The full article is uploaded in TWO (2) different files - WITH and WITHOUT authors' name(s), affiliation(s) and e-mail address(es).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 11-point Garamond font type; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Suggest THREE (3) names of reviewers for the article (in the "Comments for the Editor" section)

Author Guidelines

The following are guidelines for authors who intend to submit their paper to ATTARBAWIY: Malaysian Online Journal of Education (ATTARBAWIY). Authors should submit articles according to the correct format and in compliance to the need and criteria as stipulated to expedite the reviewing process and prevent undue delay in publication. ATTARBAWIY reserves the right to return or reject articles which are not prepared according to the stipulated guidelines.

Manuscripts should be submitted through Online Journal System (OJS). Articles published in ATTARBAWIY undergo double blind peer-review process. The following are specific guidelines for ATTARBAWIY article writing:

  1. Article submitted can be either in Malay and English language only using Microsoft Office (Word), font type Garamond, size 11. Only Table or Figures can be written using font type Garamond, size 10.
  2. Article is written using single spacing and justified.
  3. Margin for article: 1 inch above, 1 inch below, 1 inch left and right respectively.
  4. Should there be Quranic verses or Hadith inclusion in the article, only the translation should be included.
  5. Article should consist of title and author’s name and second author’s name with complete affiliation (address of institution or university, e-mail, with details of second author).
  6. Articles submitted should enclose abstract and title written in English (if the article is in Malay and vice versa). Length of abstract is not more than 300 words including 5 keywords.
  7. Length of article is not more than 6000 words.
  8. References for articles should be written according to the format as proposed by American Psychologist Association (APA). Refer website:

This journal applies double blind peer-review process, which means that identities for both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the reviewing process.

Articles submission process will undergo several phases:

  1. Articles submitted by authors will undergo reviewing process by the journal editor.
  2. Editor reserves the right to accept or reject the article if the research scope does not portray any form of research or due to any reasons that will be mentioned by the editor. If deemed suitable, editor will notify the acceptance to the journal.
  3. Upon completion of reviewing process by the editor, article will be submitted for reviewing phase by appointed reviewers based on suitability to article field. This process will normally take 2 weeks to be completed. If there is no respond received, journal will select other reviewer. Authors must suggest three (3) names of reviewers to the journal to expedite the process.
  4. Upon completion of the reviewing process, article received from the reviewers will be passed to the corresponding author to be edited based on reviewers comment: a) accepted without correction, b) accepted with minor correction, c) major correction and need to be sent to another reviewer, OR d) rejected.
  5. Authors will make necessary corrections and amendments should they be given comment (a) and (b) and need to return the article to the journal within the stipulated time. FAILURE to abide by the date as stipulated will result the article to be REJECTED for publication. Upon given the comment (c), articles need to be corrected based on the suggestions by reviewers and return the article for reviewing process by a second reviewer. Upon given the comment (d), article is REJECTED from ATTARBAWIY  publication.
  6. Upon returning articles after corrections, authors need to wait for an e-mail notifying that articles have been published online on ATTARBAWIY  website.

 

Article Acceptation/Rejection Notification:

  1. Article Acceptation/Rejection Notification – The author will receive notification of acceptation or rejection of article for publication via e-mail.
  2. Publication Notification – The author will receive notification once article is published in ATTARBAWIY.
